Negotiations continued beginning on March 1, 2010, in Houston, and lasted for the week. On Monday the union gave the counter proposal on Article 12. The company gave the union a counter proposal on Article 16, Moving Expenses. As we worked through the week, we went back and forth on Articles 12, 16, 13, and & 7.

Throughout the week there was much discussion on the issues. Both sides are being diligent in their preparation. We are trying to meet the needs of our members, while understanding the company’s concerns, both operational and financial.

When not in direct session with the company the union committee has been working on counter proposals and reviewing our initial proposals, insuring that they reflect the intent of the committee and best interests of the membership.

By the end of the week we were able to reach tentative agreements on Articles 12, Field Trips and 13, Training.

Future dates are scheduled and hopefully we will be able to continue our progress at a good pace.
